Shares of eBay (EBAY) are surging about 4% Monday, ranking among the top S&P 500 gainers, after Morgan Stanley analysts raised their price target to $132 from $127, above the Visible Alpha average. The analysts maintained an "overweight" rating, saying the acceleration of the e-commerce company's gross merchandise value "has surprised even the most bullish investors." The analysts said that the nascent live commerce market -- in which commerce is streamed in real time by hosts -- is "the missing piece" for the company, estimating that it is driving more than 40% of the company's growth. They estimate that live commerce can contribute about four points of GMV growth between this year and 2030, helping the company sustain above-consensus growth in the mid to high single digits. Shares of eBay have added about a third of their value since the start of the year.
