指数描述

The official name is the Chicago Business Barometer. It is a weighted composite index calculated on the basis of 5 sub-indices: new orders, production, employment, backlog and supply to suppliers. Index and sub-indices are seasonally adjusted. Designed to predict future GDP dynamics. Readings above 50 indicate an increase in relation to the previous month, below 50 - a decline. The data is collected from companies in the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors of Chicago.
